Within the frames of the Polish EU presidency a European Culture Congress will be held in Wrocław on 8-11 September, to be attended by thousands. The event will be prepared by a book by Zygmunt Bauman, and a series of debates in various countries. The Centennial Hall, a world heritage item will serve as venue. Besides Bauman, names like Pamuk, von Trier, Oz, Hadid, Eco, Haneke, Różewicz, Penderecki, Wajda i Wałęsa are connected to the congress in one way or another.
