Mytilene-Lesvos 2021

 

                                                   

Lesvos is located in one of the most critical moments of modern history. The geographical position makes it one of the main points of entry of refugees and migrants on European soil. At the same time, Lesvos is known for its poets and music, natural beauty, monuments, architecture, of painting, traditions, gastronomy and petrified forest. The organisers along with the mayor ask how is it possible not to run for European Capital of Culture for 2021. Yet the circumstances indicate it is not the city alone but the entire island which shall be involved when making the bid for the title.
