As the Greek candidate cities are gearing up for the final draft of their bid to be handed in by the end of November, more is happening at least visually speaking on the websites. Larissa displays what endorsement it has from numerous partners, while they enter the bid with an open call for ideas for actions:
"What could be Larissa’s proposition? Why should Larissa be chosen as Cultural Capital and not another Greek city? All cities have something. We have the Ancient Theatre, the Municipal Regional Theatre of Thessaly, the Municipal Art Gallery, multiple venues, economic possibilities, theatrical tradition, orchestra, a thousands years history, social vanguards like Kileler. Another city has theatres, other suitable venues, other tradition, other economic possibilities, other many of them together, as we do. Are all the above enough for a serious candidate? Is the criterion of the award going to be numerical and managerial? Definitely not. There has to be something else as well. Let’s us listen, however, opinions that are based on what was mentioned above. What do the people of Larissa think should be included in the candidacy proposal the Municipality will submit? They will substantially contribute in the application file. The candidacy will be theirs."
